Programme Grafenegg 2017

Today, artistic director Rudolf Buchbinder presented the 2017 summer programme.
The summer season of 2017 will begin with a star-studded Midsummer Night’s Gala at the Wolkenturm on 22 and 23 June. On the seven succeeding Saturdays, the Summer Concerts will offer an intriguing variety of programmes, leading up to the opening night of the 11th Grafenegg Festival on 18 August with a concert performance of Carl Maria von Weber’s «Der Freischütz». The 2017 Festival again extends over four weekends up to 10 September. Among its guests are international orchestras like the Vienna Philharmonic, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic and for the first time the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. The Festival is further enhanced by top-class soloists such as Anja Harteros, Piotr Beczała, Maxim Vengerov and Daniil Trifonov along with Brad Lubman as Composer in Residence. The works of Gustav Mahler play an important part in the 2017 programme.
