With the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Grafenegg welcomes its first Swiss orchestra to the festival. Under the baton of its Music Director Neeme Järvi, for decades an influential figure on the music scene and who, in summer 2015, is on his farewell tour, the audience is treated to two choice highlights of the repertoire.

The German violinist Arabella Steinbacher, recipient of two ECHO Klassik and Gramophone Editor’s Choice awards, performs Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto. Following this virtuosic and soloistic opening, the incomparable Swiss orchestra explores the theatrical and thrilling scenes in Berlioz’s «Symphonie fantastique».
