The high culture of Frank Sinatra! Percussionist Martin Grubinger, baritone Thomas Hampson and the Percussive Planet Ensemble have put together an inspired programme of classic US songs: original arrangements of Sinatra hits like «Come Fly With Me» and Sting perennials like «Seven Days» meet John Corigliano’s songs about the destruction of the World Trade Centre and the spherical soundscapes of George Crumb. The Prelude with Georg Breinschmid’s «Flying Schnörtzenbrekkers» also promises the unusual and the spectacular.

Due to health reasons Thomas Hampson had to cancel his performance. We are happy to announce that Martin Grubinger and the musicians of the Percussive Planet Ensemble agreed on playing the concert with a different programme. Therefore, you will experience a performance of a percussion work of art, created and arranged by Martin Grubinger senior in collaboration with the Percussive Planet Ensemble. This version has already been played for example at the Konzerthaus in Wien as well as at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg and finally premieres in Grafenegg.
