Frank Peter Zimmermann transforms musical intellect into sensual experience. Here he performs Prokofiev’s first Violin Concerto with Long Yu and the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, who bring with them music by French-Chinese composer Qigang Chen, who combines Chinese and European traditions. The programme also includes Rachmaninov’s Symphonic Dances, a reflection on his own life in music.
