Passionate Romanticism: Valery Gergiev’s concerts in Grafenegg have always marked a high point of musical emotionality. Now the Russian conductor returns to the Wolkenturm with his orchestra, the Munich Philharmonic, bringing with him the passionate, intense and perceptive pianist Daniil Trifonov. He performs Rachmaninov’s songlike and melodic Second Piano Concerto, a masterpiece of Russian Romanticism, before the Munich orchestra plays Anton Bruckner’s glorious «Romantic» Symphony.
