ANTON BRUCKNER
Symphony No. 3 in d minor

Introduction/abstract

Tonkunstler Orchestra · Elena Bashkirova · Robert Trevino

MOZART · BRUCKNER

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Anton Bruckner are two composers whose working methods were diametrically opposed: one would need just a few months to write an opera, while the other would spend years tinkering on his symphonies, producing revision upon revision. The creation periods of the works in this concert, given by the Tonkunstler Orchestra and conducted by the American rising star Robert Trevino, differ strikingly. A few weeks compared to a proud sixteen years. Can this be heard in the music? The juxtaposition offers the audience an exciting opportunity to grasp the difference between these two characters - both creators of glorious music!
