Festival Weekend 3

The third festival weekend will take place from 28 August to 1 September 2024. Enno Poppe, Composer in Residence 2024, will conduct the Tonkunstler Orchestra in the Austrian premiere of his work «Strom», a work commissioned by the Grafenegg Festival and ACHT BRÜCKEN | Musik für Köln. 

The following day, the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra will bring the music of Wagner to the Wolkenturm with soloists from the Bayreuth Festival and conductor Pablo Heras-Casado. 

The Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra gives its debut in Grafenegg on 30 August and plays under its chief conductor Sir Simon Rattle. 

On Saturday, 31 August, the Orchestre National de France will be a guest at the Wolkenturm together with Cristian Măcelaru and Gautier Capuçon. 

The festival Sunday of the third weekend starts with a matinee with baritone Andrè Schuen and Daniel Heide at the piano, before the Filarmonica della Scala di Milano performs at the Wolkenturm in the evening.
