Advent05 December until 08 December 2026
daily from 10 am to 7 pm1976 marked the beginning of a beloved tradition: Grafenegg Advent opened its doors for the first time. For an astonishing 50 years, the atmospheric Christmas market on the edge of the Wachau has been generating anticipation in a special way.
The magnificent castle and festively illuminated park provide the setting for one of Austria's most beautiful Christmas markets, which gets visitors in the mood for the festive season with its cultural programme. Children love the varied family programme, while all age groups enjoy music played on barrel organs, a variety of brass bands and the ORF NÖ Advent of the Stars broadcast live from Grafenegg.
At the market you will find a rich selection of exquisite handicrafts from winter-proof knitted waistcoats to fine Christmas tree baubles: let yourself be inspired and browse to your heart's desire. Selected caterers provide a wide range of culinary delights: In the ‘So schmeckt Niederösterreich’ gourmet village, you can enjoy culinary delights from regional cuisine, with a wide range of flavours from rustic to melt-in-the-mouth. All this is part of the magic of Grafenegg Advent.
