Out into nature, and out to the people: on Faust's Easter stroll, not only does the landscape expand, but so too does the heart. Goethe's atmospheric picture finds a musical counterpart in Beethoven's homage to country life, the «Pastoral» symphony. Likewise, Schubert's incidental music to «Rosamunde» awakens feelings of spring, with songs such as «Wie lebt sich's so fröhlich im Grünen» («How merry life is in the country») extolling the beauty of nature. Martin Haselböck and his acclaimed period-instrument orchestra Wiener Akademie roam the musical spring landscapes, joined by the Konzertchor Niederösterreich.
