Trio Lingo

We are a young international trio consisting of Lara (22) on cello, Simen (23) on piano, and Villads (24) on violin. We met in 2023 at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, where we are currently studying with Tim Frederiksen and Jens Elvekjær.

We chose the name Trio Lingo because we have three mother tongues and come from different cultures. Villads grew up in Småland and Berlin and only moved to Copenhagen as an adult, after a year of studies in Oslo. Lara grew up in Rome and London and now lives permanently in Copenhagen. Simen is a true Norwegian.

Whenever possible, we perform without sheet music in concert, as we find that this gives us a deeper understanding of the music and offers the audience a more engaging experience.
Another central aspect of our work is expanding the established piano trio repertoire through our own arrangements.
