The matinees offer the perfect musical start to the day: on the festival mornings, beginning on 15 August, we’ll first journey to the «New World» with the Tonkünstler Orchestra, conducted by its principal conductor Fabien Gabel, featuring Bohuslav Martinů’s short «Memorial to Lidice» and two masterpieces by Antonín Dvořák: the Cello Concerto in A minor, featuring Kian Soltani as soloist, and the „From the New Worl« Symphony. On 22 August, we’ll delve into the world of Composer in Residence Steve Reich: with the Colin Currie Group, guitarist Bryce Dessner (The National) and Colin Currie.
