«I think it’s worth talking about the cultural exchange aspect of going to Grafenegg, which, for me as an American composer who really loves the European new music world and has never been to Europe or really outside the US, is a very exciting thing. Not only to experience the festival and work with Olga Neuwirth and all the other musicians there, but also just to be in contact and dialogue with colleagues and composers who are around my age, from around the world.»
Biografie
Noah Godard ist ein kalifornischer Komponist, der in New York City lebt. Seine Musik ist geprägt von Verspieltheit und tiefer Neugier und reflektiert oft unsere Beziehung zur Umwelt, die Übersättigung der modernen Medien und die Grenze zwischen Ironie und Nostalgie. Noah absolviert derzeit ein Bachelorstudium in Komposition an der Juilliard School bei Nina C. Young, Amy Beth Kirsten und Matthias Pintscher.
Noah hatte 2025 den Steven Stucky Composer Fellow Chair des Los Angeles Philharmonic inne, nachdem er zuvor drei Jahre lang am LA Phil Composer Fellowship Program teilgenommen hatte. Er hat auch an Festivals wie dem Bowdoin International Music Festival, dem Yellow Barn's Young Artists' Program und MATA Jr. teilgenommen und mit Ensembles wie Hub New Music, Sandbox Percussion und den Lyris und Bergamot Quartets zusammengearbeitet. Noahs Musik wurde von Organisationen wie Juilliard, ASCAP, Entraide Française und YoungArts ausgezeichnet.
Als leidenschaftlicher Lehrer ist Noah Programmdirektor des NowBeat-Projekts, wurde vom Rhythmic Music Conservatory of Denmark als Kompositionslehrer unter Vertrag genommen und hat mehrere Lehrstipendien an der Juilliard School inne. Neben der Musik studiert Noah als Bonsai-Künstler und interessiert sich für Kochen, Wandern und Linguistik.
