Description
What a finale: two legendary performers, who together have well over a century of professional experience, play music with young people in the first decade of their careers. Riccardo Muti celebrates his Grafenegg debut with Rudolf Buchbinder: both are connected by their curiosity, their spontaneity and their humour – three ingredients that make a long, happy musical life possible in the first place. Together they ensure that the great tradition of music-making is passed on to the next generation. Riccardo Muti has been one of the most dedicated interpreters of Giuseppe Verdi’s music throughout his life. He brings the ballet music from «I vespri siciliani» to Grafenegg as well as the Notturno by Giuseppe Martucci, a composer, whose music is performed far too little in our region. Rudolf Buchbinder bids farewell this evening with Mozart’s D minor Concerto after 20 successful, unforgettable summers as Artistic Director in Grafenegg.
