Summer Sounds

Enjoy the start of summer in Grafenegg with the principial orchestra. On 26 June, the virtuoso pianist Alexander Malofeev will perform a veritable „magic on the keys» with Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto in B flat minor, before the Finnish conductor Eva Ollikainen brings the evening to an ecstatic close with Beethoven’s 7th Symphony. Observing and listening to nature once inspired Antonio Vivaldi to compose his «Four Seasons». On 10 July, star violinist Ray Chen, together with the Tonkünstler, will take the audience on a journey from Baroque-era Venice to 1970s Buenos Aires, blending Astor Piazzolla’s tango rhythms with Vivaldi. As a fantastic encore: a late-night performance of Max Richter’s reworking of «The Four Seasons», familiar from the TV series «Bridgerton». This paves the way for the «Night at the Oscars» on 17 July: film and television star Manuel Rubey, alongside film specialist Frank Strobel conducting the Tonkünstler, will present a gala evening featuring fantastic, Oscar-winning film music spanning nearly 90 years of cinema history – including «Jaws», «Titanic» and «The Godfather» included.
