The experience of chamber musicHow to book
At this point this concert is exclusively available in our Saturday-Subscription 2025/26. The single ticket purchase starts on 27 August 2025 (exclusively for members of the Friends of Grafenegg and Grafenegg Card holders), respectively 10 September 2025 (general purchase).
Description
From the chamber to the stage: every year in late May to early June, young ensembles of the European Chamber Music Academy (ECMA) set up camp in Grafenegg to spend a week perfecting exceptional works of the chamber music repertoire.
Dyed-in-the-wool chamber music fans enjoy the informal, lively access that characterises the music-making by active and former members of the ECMA, outstanding talents all. Chamber music is the foundation of orchestral music: it’s where young musicians learn to listen to each other, breathe together and react to their colleagues’ every impulse, however small. Grafenegg offers an exceptional setting for the ECMA as the leading talent incubator for excellent emerging ensembles. It culminates in two final concerts.
On Saturday evening, all participants present themselves to the public. The matinee on Sunday is always created by an ensemble of ECMA alumni, this time by the internationally successful Barcelona-based saxophone quartet Kebyart. In his usual fascinating way, the Graz chamber music expert Harald Haslmayr guides us through the concerts.
